The UMN map server software is open a SOURCE development environment for the production of Internet applications with dynamic card contents. The software e.g. uses further well-known open SOURCE and free software of modules like Shapelib, FreeType, Proj.4, GDAL/OGR and many further.

UMN map server is executable on operating systems and in environments, in which many other systems cannot be used, so also on Linux/Apache platforms. UMN map server can be compiled for the most UNIX/Linux, Microsoft Windows and also MacOS (starting from OSX) operating systems.
