The term search word density - designates also as Keyword density (from English keyword density) - originates from the search machine optimization and describes the relationship of the number of occurrences of a search word to the sum of all words of the text of a web page, expressed in per cent.

Influence on the Suchmaschinen Ranking

The evaluation of a web page for a search word entered with a retrieval query is made by the Ranking algorithm so mentioned of a search machine. A multiplicity of factors is considered, among which also the search word density can rank.

Examples

• In a web page, which contains altogether ten different words, each individual word reaches a search word density of 10%.

• With a web page with likewise 10 words, consisting of nine different words and a word twice occurring, the twice occurring word possesses a search word density of 20%.
