Internet makes only the infrastructure available. A use for the users results only from the fact that based on the structure of the Internets different services are to the user at the disposal. Thus the service of the World Wide Webs help the Internet at the beginning of the 1990er-Jahre only to the break-through. Also today always new services are still added. The most important and most well-known services are briefly described in the following table. For explanations in more detail see the respective articles.

In the field of the disaster research surface covering abuses or losses of the Internets are very seriously taken (D-dangers). A collapse of the Internets or individual parts would have extensive consequences.

Into the 1990er the educating instances reacted to years in view of the spreading of the Internets as source of information and means of communication defensively. When it became clear that it did not concern a mode feature was offered, in schools and universities of programs, in order to prepare young people for competent handling the medium Internet. The promotion covers the following goals:

• The young people are to be able to pick those out, which need them from the abundance at information (data bases, homepage) and whose reliability to examine.
• The young people are to interact competently and with a high quantity of unstructured impulses (e.g. Mails) productively to go around can.
• The young people are to provide and into the net to set be able even qualitatively high-quality contents (e.g. Homepage).

The influence of the Internet authority becomes apparent also in the industry, where even at Internet-based companies strong differences are recognizable in to what extent the mechanism of the Internets is understood and used productively.

Internet craze and computer craze

With the rising spreading of the Internets the cases of Internet craze mehren themselves. That is, that the concerning cannot steer their Internet consumption any longer and despite problems (for example lack of sleep, marriage problems, financial problems) of far on-line are. This can have extensive consequences, like for example indebtedness and vocational descent. In addition, health damage as for instance lack of movement and wrong nutrition is possible.

The existence of one "„computer craze "“in the sense of a dependence on computer games (whether on-line or not) is disputed. However are from South Korea, where the plays already take a majority of the everyday life, in the meantime also some cases admits, in which players forgot a drinking. Several persons already died thereby at dehydrogenation
