The Perseus Project is not one 1985 justified profit-oriented project for the production of a digital library. It is resident with the Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, the USA, where it is operated by the department OF Classics.
A goal is a comprehensive and freely accessible on-line library for the Geisteswissenschaften, whereby the emphasis is clearly on the source collection to the antique one and here particularly on the archaischen and classical time. The sources are usually translated, in addition, the respective original texts (Greek and/or Latin, equally in addition, papyri are observable) are available likewise like some older encyclopedias. Responsible person editor of the project, which represents certainly one of the most important on-line available source collections to the antique one, is Gregory Crane.
