NaviServer is an open SOURCE Web server, a Fork AOL server, which is used by AOL.

NaviServer is multithreading able of the Scriptsprache Tcl like AOL servers, can with programmed dynamic web pages process and for strongly frequented is with priority used.

Since in the middle of 2005 there is a AOLserver Fork (project fragmentation) under the original name NaviServer. With this abgespaltenen version the decision-making process is to be openly led across new features. The Fork is based on the 4er line of development AOL servers.

NaviServer is used under the Mozilla Public License, which permits also the commercial employment.

NaviServer/AOLserver was originally renamed 1995 by the company NaviSoft developed, however, when AOL NaviSoft bought up.

Feature

Some new features, which NaviServer has opposite the AOL server, are among other things

• a Watchdog for automatic starting again in the event of an error
