Live journal (also LJ shortened) is a Website, which offers Weblogs and it so each user permitted to lead an on-line diary. In addition live journal is the name the open SOURCE server software, which was developed, in order to offer this service. Live journal differs from other Web log offerers particularly by the stress of the user community, how it before particularly in WAVE (one the oldest on-line Communities) admits was, and by the support of social networks.

Meanwhile live journal was taken over by SixApart, it however further on this project works and is continued to lead.
