Jason Rohrer (* 14 November 1977) is a free programmer, author and an artist. It is among other things well-known as a developer of the anonymous exchange stock exchange and but that it cracked minutes of on-line music shop Apple iTunes. Rohrer lives at present (2005) in potsdam, New York.
Jason Rohrer rejects the copyright. In its essay Free distribution (English for free spreading) it pleads for two alternative remuneration mechanisms: On the one hand for the Street Performer Protocol, with which the author publishes a work freely, as soon as before a money determined by him is together paid by the prospective customers. On the other hand for a system, with which the author is paid sequentially by his trailers.
Rohrer acts even in this sense and tries to live only from donations to. It documents its work in a log. It publishes its program and other work under free licenses (free software and/or free contents) or makes it in common-free (English public domain) available.
North Country Notes (NCN) is a Regiogeld project in potsdam, New York. After it had originally helped little only, Jason Rohrer transferred the entire project of those, which had started it in October 2004.
In the winter 2003 Jason Rohrer sketched a new paper currency system, the Z-dollar. It published the idea however only one and a half one years later to 24. May 2005.
Jason Rohrer applies the simple life, which he leads with his family, in order to strengthen the regional economy and to lower their ecological foot casting.
