Gajim should not be confounded with the Instant Messaging program Gaim

Gajim is a free software Client for the Jabber and/or XMPP network. It uses the GTK Toolkit. Gajim is executable both under Linux and under BSD and Windows.

A goal of the software

Gajim would like to make a high performance available and simply to using XMPP Client for GTK users. It does not need inevitably gnomes. Users with elevated requirements find a practical means with the XML - console for the view of the individual XML packages.

Gajim was translated into the languages English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, Greek and Bulgarian.

Network feature

Because many Jabber servers make so-called transportation available to other Instant Messaging systems, Gajim also Yahoo! supports More measuringclosely, AIM, ICQ and.NET networks. Further services are accessible by gateway server, like for example RSS and atomic intelligence services, sending SMS messages in Handynetze and even weather forecasts.
