G.726 designates from the ITU-T described codec to the compression of language into digital signals. To telephone G.726 with VoIP connections assigned over e.g. over Internet.

The codec uses bit rates of 16, 24, 32 and 40 kbit/s, whereby the 32kbit/s-Variante is used predominantly.

With 32 kbit/s applies:
