A G-LINE is net further a network spell in the Internet Relay Chat, which forbids to a host MASK (consisting of and IP address or hostname ident) for a certain time interval to log in in the IRC network. A K-LINE causes the same like a G-LINE, however only on the server, on which it is implemented. Some IRC Daemons supports also CIDR G LINEs.
Syntax, in order to set a G-LINE (UnrealIRCd):
gline [+|] <user@host | nick> [<time tons ban> <reason>]
Parameters, which are posed in [], are optional.
To add or remove +| used around a G-LINE. When removing no further arguments are necessary except the host MASKs. If nothing is indicated, then from one + one proceeds.
time ton ban specifies the duration, after which a G-LINE runs out. If a zero or a nothing are indicated, the G-LINE does not run out.
reason a short indication is why this G-LINE is set.
Example: The syntax, in order to remove all Clients with the IP address "for 192.168.0.3 "and ident "the roots "from the entire network for one minute, would be:
GLINE +root@ 192.168.0.3 Clients of this IP are not here desired.
Wildcards are permitted in the host MASK, then one can seize also ident the user1 to user999, by indicating "user* ".
