Fullquote (literally "full quotation" translates) designates an answer to an electronic message, which contains even the complete original message.
Fullquotes are felt within different ranges of net-based communication as bad quotation style, particularly with complex discussions between a multiplicity of users, as for instance in the Usenet, on mailing lists, or in Web forums.
If the answer is inserted above the completely quoted original text, one speaks of TOFU (text above, Fullquote down).
RFC 1855, the netiquette Guidelines, expresses itself clearly against Fullquotes. In accordance with this guideline contents of the original message should necessarily be stated only so far as for the understanding in an answer, whereby this can be sometimes with short texts also the entire text.
