filmportal.de is a free film portal to the German film with extensive data about films, persons as well as articles.

By German Filminstitut - DIF registered association in co-operation with CineGraph - Hamburgi Centrum for film research registered association was developed and supported by the other members of the German Kinematheksverbunds and the federations of the Filmwirtschaft. On 11 February 2005 took place in Berlin in the context of the Berlinale of the Launch.

The portal cooperates to ARTE, the DEFA donation, the Goethe Institutes, German of film, the German film academy, and the Berlinale with the Association of the Europennes (ACE).

Archives offer information to 46,000 German motion picture films (conditions: April 2006), which developed since 1895. 3.000 of them is introduced in detail with Inhaltsangaben, criticisms, photos or posters. Beyond that present Biografien are at present represented into filmportal.de 111,000 names of the German film, to 650 film-creating are. Ranges of topics interlace the information with overview articles and background representations.
