Exchange ticket is 2004 a created German Internet exchange circle for books, films, music and computer games.

History

Exchange ticket was created of coworkers of the Karlsruher company inter+NEXT GmbH under the name book ticket in the autumn 2004 as free exchange platform for books and hearing books. In July 2005 the platform was extended by the categories of "“films"”, "“music"” and "“PC/Games"” and renamed by book ticket in exchange ticket. To 12.05.2006 the 50.000ste member could be welcomed. Books represent also over 500.000 offers further the largest segment, followed from music (45,000 offers), films (23,000 offers) and computer software (12,000 offers).

Function mode

Each new user must offer first own articles. If one of the offered articles is requested, the user receives a virtual exchange ticket from the Requester in response. For this exchange ticket the user can request then arbitrary articles of other offerers. This is to that extent reduced, an exchange ticket is valid in each case in in each case an article category (book, film, music, computer game). Who offers thus only books, can with its exchange tickets officially also only again books request.

For three offered articles from each of the four exchange ranges the user receives a free ticket, for further three articles a further, likewise after five positive evaluations from each range. There are further tickets then however only against an exchange.

As an input assistance when offering articles a deposited data base, so that when offering common titles often only the ISBN and/or EAN must be one-given, serves from which the most important product data (author/interpreter, title, feature year etc.) is automatically generated.

In principle it applies that there is one exchange ticket for an article independently of its quality exactly. If necessary one may offer several own articles for an exchange ticket; for an own article several exchange tickets to demand is inadmissible. This principle is discussed again and again by new members in the associated forum, is however not placed by the operator in question.

Forwarding expenses always go debited to the sender, so that a realization of profits is impossible by superelevated forwarding expenses accounts.

The reliability of the members of the exchange platform is guaranteed by a system of evaluation. That, which requests an article, can evaluate the Tauschpartner obligated to dispatching the article after confirmation of the requirement on from 0 to 5 stars handing a scale. 5 stars mean that the exchange and/or the requested article corresponded fully to expectations. 0 stars mean that the exchange did not come. The operators of the platform refund the "“ticket"” after examination of the incident after 0-Sterne-Bewertungen back and reserve themselves with accumulated 0-Sterne-Bewertungen the exclusion of the member concerned.

The exchange platform is until further notice free. The financing takes place via faded in advertising banners. The FAQ contains since beginning a fee reservation of the platform, however to today (May 2006) no efforts were undertaken to introduce a fee model.

Demarcation

Contrary to the exchange understanding of the platform Bookcrossing the offered media always turn into in the property of the requesting and to be able after use to be naturally again further-exchanged.
