The European Internet Foundation (EIF) is 1999 a created association after Belgian right for European Union parliamentarian, who wants to exert influence on the IT-politics in Europe. Chairman of the association is Elly Plooij van Gorsel.

Topics, which were arranged relevant and affected of the EIF, are for example Internet Governance and harmonizations in the range of the right to the mental property.

Beside parliamentarians also lobby organizations and enterprises can become member of the association, which are loaded to meetings with representatives of the European Union. Also citizen right organizations such as EDRi are specified as members.

The membership for parliamentarians is free, Businesses - members pay annual contribution between 2000,00"€ and 10000,00"€.

The EIF maintains contacts to the American Internet Caucus around Bob Goodlatte.
