The virtual library (DVB) is a virtual library in the sense of a systematic catalog of general and technical sources of information in the Internet"” (self description), selected by sources of Internet, a "“systematically arranged collection.

The DVB arranged according to fields of activity is provided by the specialized advisers of the university and federal state library Duesseldorf. Leading long time during the Internet development within the range of the German scientific libraries, it lost Thomas Hilberer after the way course of its initiator, in opinion of some at topicality and quality.
