Dijjer is a Peer ton Peer Webcache.Dijjer functioned similarly as BitTorrent, necessarily however no tracker. It is also similar as freenet, since, as with this, each participant of the network buffers parts of files on its non removable disk. Also the program a local Web interface (haven 9115) has where one open connections and active Downloads sees.

For the user no visible difference to normal Web Downloads exists. Over for example the file http://mirrors.creativecommons.org/movingimages/Mix_Tape.mov to download one would use the URL http://127.0.0.1:9115/http://mirrors.creativecommons.org/movingimages/Mix_Tape.mov. Dijjer would load then parts of the file from connected Peers and to the inquiring program (normally the Webbrowser) would pass on.

At present only implementation is written and under the GPL published in Java. Zurzeit still is Dijjer in the beta stage.
