A Deep left (German: "deep linkage") is a left, which does not refer to the homepage of an Internet operational readiness level, but directly on a completely determined, "more deeply lying" lower surface of a Website. This can be for example a certain file, an individual article or an open listing.
The use of Deep left is disputed, since in web pages with Frames by Deep left individual Frames can be extracted from the offer. If a reference to the total offer is then missing on the appropriate single side, perhaps bad-willing can spend the information contained there as their own. This applies however in particular only if only certain Frames of a strange page is referenziert.
However the Federal High Court stated in its Paperboy decision in such a way specified from 17 July 2003 (BGHZ 156, 1) that setting Deep does not offend left against the copyright powers of the linked offerers. Also an unfair exploitation of offerer achievements by setting Deep left was answered in the negative. The BGH left however the question expressly open whether that is illegal left under evasion of technical preventive measures.
During the use of search machines it is to be considered that these refer usually directly to the appropriate lower surfaces of an offer, in which the selected search words is contained. If the appropriate page uses Frames, it can to a loss of parts of the Design concept including control and supplementing data, how come copyright notices or advertisement. In order to avoid this, Web designers use frequently Javascript, who re-establish from the loaded side the correct complete side view. Many specialists warn however due to this problem before the use of Frames.
The so-called "Deeplinking" stands terminologically also with the Deep Web in connection.
