CouchSurfing is a free Internet-based host service. The members use the web page, in order to find free accommodation on journeys to show just like for other services, for example a traveler the city.

In order to be able to estimate the trustworthiness of the members better, there are detailed profiles, a Verfizierungssystem by the credit card and a mutual endorsement system. The registration on the Internet side is free, for the freiwillige verification 25 euro is required.

Besides groups of users are available and a Chatraum.
