The Commercial Internet eXchange (CIX) is an Internet knot, which represents a traffic junction between commercial Internet offerers. First CIX was furnished 1991 in California.

The central German interconnect point is called DE-CIX, it forms the connection between the nets different German commercial Internet Provider and is in Frankfurt/Main.
