A Clientseitige application runs in contrast to server-lateral application not on the Web server, separates on the computer of the user.

One within this range frequently used programming language is Javascript. The source code is built into the HTML side and interpreted by the Browser. An alternative to it offers for example the language VBScript.

Advantages

• For the solution of some problems (validity of form inputs) can be done without the co-operation of the Web server.
• A dialogue with the user is made possible
• The aesthetics of the web page can be improved (contents and representation as a function of the mouse position, e.g. changing).

Disadvantages

• The source code is visible and accessible for the user. That can be perhaps safety-relevant very precarious.
