Chora is a CVS Viewer for horde/hurdle the Framework on PHP basis. Chora needs an executable horde/hurdle installation over to function to be able.

The bases of Chora are strongly ajar against the FreeBSD CVSweb Script. Chuck Hagenbuch portierte some at code of the Perl was based CVSweb after PHP for Chora. After Hagenbuch was finished, Anil Madhavapeddy wrote the code again over (allegedly because he did not understand him simply) and introduced a PHP based CVSlib. Since version 2.0-alpha Chora control the ability to represent beside CVS also subversion Repositories.

Since Chora other Web-based CVS Viewern was after-programmed, Chora is this opposite a little in the disadvantage which the features the available concerns. The developer team does however everything, in order to catch up technologically.

Naming

The name resulted not directly from the Greek word Chora (and also not from a IKEA catalog, like some jokeful stated), but from the novel series of Wheel OF Time (German: The wheel of the time) of Robert Jordan. Therein a tree of the life occurs named Chora. Hagenbuch and Madhavapeddy pleased the support of trees at CVS Trees and selected Chora as names for their new application.
