The bulb fish is a sprachpflegerische column of the author Bastian crimps, which appears since May 2003 in the mirror on-line one and since February 2005 also in the monthly culture supplement printed mirror.
The bulb fish consisted initially only of the actual column, which enjoyed however soon of large resonance at an increasing readership. Thus further columns were added with the time: The bulb fish ABC with short explanations to terms, reader letters among other things with questions to the bulb fish and the Zwiebelfischchen. These represent a humorously commentated collection from photos and documents to language curiosities of the everyday life, which are contributed regularly by readers of the bulb fish.
The column developed, like Bastian crimps writes, from its activity as Dokumentar and Korrektor in the editorship mirror of on-line one, while which wrote it humorously written notes to sources of error the editors. These notes are the origin of the bulb fish. The name refers to the term bulb fish from the printer language and designates in wrong type faces set letters in a text. The bulb fish wants to up-mirror-image-eat "wrongly set words in the German language".
