The Breidbart index (BI) is a term from the Usenet. This concerns a number, which defines, how intensively substanziell contents or advertisement for the same service with many copies and/or in many newsgroup resembles was spread. If a permitted value is exceeded, one calls the Usenet articles concerned Spam.
The computation Breidbart index is so complicated, because there are several possibilities, the same into several newsgroup to posts:
The Breidbart index tries to consider that the first variant represents not as bad resources theft as second. To the Breidbart index each copy contributes the square root from the number of newsgroup, into which this was gepostet copy. One calls the sum of these contributions Breidbart index.
Is it of importance, within which period the articles were gepostet. If it is not differently regulated, everything is taken in account, which was gepostet within 45 days. Deviating from it there is the term in the German-language Usenet BI7 with one period of 7 days.
According to general agreement net far, in no newsgroup, the Breidbart index may do a value of
