Tipps to AppleJuice
- Since the gained Credits is lost to terminating the core, it is meaningful to use the state of rest since one can switch thereby the computer off without Creditverlust.
- As AJ-Neueinsteiger one should load a well spread and current file at the best first times from a AJ-Linkseite, so that the Upload comes into momentum (without Upload no Credits). It mostly brings not particularly much, if one already bring along an extensive Share, since often does not admit these files in the AJ-net are (Hashsummen deviate frequently). Alternatively one knows release post on a AJ-Linkseite, so that the Upload might be relatively fast well charged to capacity.
- The newer Snapshot versions are matured mostly than the versions contained in the set UP package. One should download therefore after the installation of the set UP package the current Snapshot core and overwrite the old core thereby. If necessary the version number must be removed from the file name of the new core by renaming - the new core must possess thus exactly the same file name as the old core, so that the linkages of goal function further. Also the GUI should be brought on the current conditions, by overwriting the ZIP file of the GUIs into the appropriate GUI file unpacked and all older files.
- In addition there is so-called "Mod Setups "the independent Coder provides. These set UP packages contain then the newest versions. To find "Mod Setups are "in the AppleJuice Download center.
The advantages of newer versions one can read oneself there: Core ChangelogJava GUI CHANGE log
- User with broadband entrances (starting from DSL2000 or better) should to the core of more memory assign, since the core with the standard starting linkage gets only 64 MT RAM assigned. These 64 MT can do altogether 55 active Upload /Downloadverbindungen to administer (this value does not have to do anything with the max. connecting attitude in the options, since in the options additionally still inquiry/answer and source transmission connections rank among it)
The accordingly adapted linkage of goal reads as follows: C:\WINDOWS\system32\javaw.exe - jar - Xmx128m "C:\Programme\appleJuice\core\ajcore.jar " the additive - Xmx128m indicates that in this case 128 MT RAM at main memories are to the core at the disposal. With DSL2000 already 96 MT RAM could be sufficient and with strong SDSL connections can a further increase of the main memory for the core be meaningful.
- If the core is to be terminated, this must always over exit or over the appropriate GUI function happen, since otherwise Downloads or attitudes can be lost.
- The core works also without opened GUI perfectly. The GUI can be closed thus, if no changes are to be made. Thus less main memory is used and also the CCU load is lowered with closed GUI.
Traffic Shaping for better range extent of utilization
So that one receives a good Downloadgeschwindigkeit despite a high Uploads, the use of Traffic Shaping is recommendable (more Credits brings). Traffic Shaping is supported e.g. by the cFos driver. Thus it is for example possible under standard T-DSL (1024/128 KBit) to release up to 15 KByte Upload and to receive nevertheless still another high Downloadgeschwindigkeit. Nothing the defiance should be paid attention to the fact that the Upload is not adjusted beyond the line maximum, since otherwise the can break off with AppleJuice, if within 150 seconds no further data for a Upload Slot are supplied. For incompletely high-loaded Chunks no Credits is credited, since these data must be unfortunately rejected.
