An autoposter is a computer program, which automates a dispatching of binary files as appendices to articles in newsgroup.
Usually one gives a listing to the autoposter in the file system, in which binary files are and transacts then attitudes to the line for reference text. The lines for reference text must differ, otherwise they are bundled by most new readers. Subsequently, all files from the listing are dispatched to the selected newsgroup.
Usenet had been conceived originally only to exchange text messages. In order to be able to transfer also binary files, the coding procedure UUencode was developed. In each case three bytes binary-coded data are converted into four UUE coded bytes, those data set which can be transferred rise thus around a third. Meanwhile there are alternative coding procedures as yEnc, which code more efficiently.
