ArXiv.org (mentioned "„The of archives "“) is archives for Preprints (also e-print or eprints mentioned) from the ranges physics, mathematics, computer science and biology.

History

Still before arising the Word Wide Webs Paul Ginsparg at the Los Alamos began 1991 national Laboratory (LANL) with the archiving of physical articles. The other disciplines were added gradually. At present archives to the Cornell University are operated and reflected world-wide.

System

Publications are accepted without investigation for archiving. Since 2004 are the placing of articles on the system however only possible, if this is approved of by an author already established (endorsement), or if a computer of a trustworthy Domain is used. This hurdle became necessary, in order to avoid Spam or rough misdemeanours of scientific publishing.
