aMule ("“all platform Mule"”) is a free variant of the likewise free Filesharing Clients eMule for eDonkey and the Kad network, which is executable eMule beside Windows on different operating systems, contrary to, such as GNU/Linux, Solaris, *BSD and Mac OS X. History

aMule developed in September 2003 as Fork from the xMule base of code, after the xMule team because of personal differences and different Design goals zerstritten themselves had.

Technology

The program code differs however partly substantially. aMule develops for example on the free library WxWidgets. The moreover one aMule substantially modular is developed, otherwise the separation from core and GUI would not be possible in this form.

The aMule Entwicklerteam co-operates closely with of eMule and tries important eMule innovations to portieren. For example the eMule extensions were portiert such as AICH and Secure Hash already and are supported since version 2.1.0 also before only the Kad network formed by eMule Clients.
