The American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) is regional those Internet Registry for the USA, Canada, Bermuda, the Bahamas and parts of the Karibik. The organization was created 1997 and was since then responsible for the IP assignment in North America (the USA, Canada and some islands of the Karibik and North Atlantic). Since 2002 the LACNIC took over the task for South America. Africa was taken over 2005 officially by the AfriNIC.

The ARIN is attached over the ADDRESS Supporting Organization to the ICANN.
