AfriNIC is the responsible regionally Internet Registry (RIR) for Africa.

AfriNIC, with seat in level town center, Mauritius, was recognized on 11 October 2004 by ICANN provisionally and took up its service on 22 February 2005. In April 2005 it was finally officially recognized.

Thus she takes over the Africa agendas, which had before RIPE NCC, ARIN and APNIC.
