Afrikanet is the first information portal in the Internet over humans of African origin in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Afrikanet is updated in until three times per week.

Afrikanet developed in the year 2000 as mailing list for the information from humans of African origin in Austria. In order to bring humans each other more near, the journalists of Afrikanet inform about the life of humans of African origin in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Afrikanet hardly informs about Africa. The information portal of the engaged African Simon Inou made of Cameroon and Richard Gnaore Ossiri from the Ivory Coast was created.

Because of its out agendas work was distinguished Afrikanet in October 2005 with the Austrian interculture price 2005.
