Abebooks is a company, which operates book trade in the Internet. The enterprise acts with new and used books and particularly by the sales of books already out of print admittingness attained. Abebooks functions thereby usually not even as dealers, but only as commercial platform, who mediate between offerers and Nachfrager.

Abebooks Europe was in September 1999 under the name justbooks.de, is however since October 2001 a daughter of the Canadian enterprise Abebooks.com (Abebooks Inc.). In October 2004 the Spanish using book platform Iberlibro.com was integrated. 9/1999 - 10/2001 JustBooks.de GmbH

JustBooks in September 1999 in Duesseldorf von Hannes Blum, Dr. painted Brettel, Christian long one, based Florian Heinemann and Dr. Boris Wertz. From the idea to the realization only few months passed. Punctually to the Frankfurt book fair in October 1999 JustBooks.de started. At first the young entrepreneurs were financed by Business Angels, which came even from the Internet industry. Starting from 1/2000 Hubert Burda Media supported the rising enterprise as a risk capital giver. At the end of June 2000 the English platform www.justbooks.co.uk one opened, one three-quarter year later (March 2001) went to JustBooks into France under www.justbooks.fr to the market.

In October 2001 JustBooks offers firm coworker more as 5.3 million books of more than 1000 second hands bookseller and employs 15.

Abebooks (Abebooks Inc.) was created in May 1996 by Rick Pura and Keith Waters in Victoria/Canada.

After conclusion of the study as a Diplom-Kaufmann at the University of Dortmund Ulrich fire (35) started its vocational career in the advertisement. To a 5-monatigen foreign stay in Vancouver, Canada, he came in January 2000 as a fellow combatant of the first hour to Abebooks Europe (to 10/2001 JustBooks.de). Here Ulrich along-coined/shaped fire first as a director/conductor of the Customer service and the personnel management, then increasingly also within the range finances/administration, the structure of Justbooks.de and the change to the today's enterprise Abebooks Europe crucially. Since at the beginning of March 2003 manages Ulrich fire the enterprise as a managing director.

After conclusion of its study to the industrial engineer at the technical university Karlsruhe Hannes Blum (37) was three years advisors with the Boston Consulting Group, before he created the company Justbooks with four fellow combatants, today Abebooks Europe GmbH. To the structure of JustBooks and the successful union of the enterprise with Abebooks.com (Abebooks Inc.) in the autumn 2001 Blum changed in May 2003 to the Canadian nut/mother enterprise in Victoria, BC, and manages Abebooks now world-wide as President & CEO.
